Automation Engineer Job in Gurgaon at AVL India Private Limited

QUALIFICATION:

• Minimum Engineering Degree in Electronics or Mechatronics or Mechanical or equivalent

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Min 4-6 years of core experience in Automation using python/MATLAB/C-coding for Automotive SW development

SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Strong understanding of software engineering principles and clean coding practices.
• Strong background on automotive SW development tools (Simulink, Jira, Targetlink, Canape, ECUTest)
• Proficiency with modern Python features and libraries (e.g., typing, f-strings, context managers).
• Experience validating and adapting AI-generated code responsibly.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze, debug, and refactor codebases, including code written by others.
• Familiarity with version control tools like Git and CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency in designing GUI using Python or MATLAB to optimize workflow.
• Proficiency in developing tools to automate the work products, handle large datasets & generate automated reports.
• Test Automation Framework Development
• Must have good working experience in manual C coding & m-scripting.
• High analytical and conceptual skills and ability to work independently.
• Good presentation - and English language skills.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop, integrate, and maintain Python scripts and automation tools that align with existing codebases.
• Using state-of-the-art AI tools (e.g., from ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot) develop solutions meeting quality, performance, and functionality requirements.
• Write clean, modular, and reusable code with proper architecture, documentation and robust error handling.
• Design, implement, and maintain unit and integration tests using frameworks like pytest or unit test, ensuring high test coverage and meaningful assertions.
• Optimize existing scripts for performance, maintainability, and readability.
• Follow and enforce consistent coding standards and modern Python practices
• Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and support ongoing improvement of development practices.
• Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to clarify requirements and deliver robust solutions.
