Standard Chartered is hiring for the role of Audit Manager!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

  • Audits assigned to the individual in the audit plan should address the key risks identified in the detailed risk assessment and in the audit planning process and meet relevant regulatory requirements and expectations that are required to be covered by GIAI
  • Ensure that audit team operates in line with the Audit Charter during engagements, remains independent from management and free from interference
  • Effectively manage the cost of assigned audits within the allocated budget for their areas within audit engagements
  • Act as Team Lead / Team Member on assigned audit work across the Group
  • When Team Leading, provide clear guidance, detailed review and supervision of the audit team’s work so that audit deliverables meet quality standards and timelines in line with the GIAI methodology
  • Demonstrates strong foundational analytics skills, with the ability to independently design, execute and interpret data driven audit tests, and proficiency in data analytics tools (e.g., SQL, Python, Excel advanced functions, Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent) to support audit planning, fieldwork and continuous monitoring activities
  • Provide technical input and challenge on audit work being undertaken within the scope of assigned product area of responsibility, working with the audit team to produce high-quality outputs addressing areas of greatest risk
  • Support adherence to the GIAI methodology and raise awareness and understanding of the methodology
  • Demonstrate sound knowledge of business/technical areas and expert knowledge of the audit process, including the GIAI system, ensuring audit work meets all methodology and system requirements
  • Monitor implementation and delivery of agreed issues and audit plans, advise on resolution of issues, and escalate unresolved audit findings
  • Share knowledge to increase specialism within the function
  • Influence change within the department by highlighting potential enhancements
  • Identify growth areas and development opportunities on an ongoing basis
  • When Team Leading, provide performance feedback at the end of an audit
  • Identify and complete key internal training for self-development
  • Facilitate development of audit team members through on-the-job training and recommending formal training
  • Assist in updating assigned Continuous Risk Assessment to identify changes in risk profiles and propose audit plan changes
  • Promote early identification and escalation of risks, issues, trends and developments to stakeholders
  • Adopt an anticipatory approach to risk assessment through stakeholder engagement and monitoring the external environment
  • Review MI and reports regularly to remain updated on business trends and audit deliverables
  • Manage portfolio stakeholders and establish strong working relationships to improve the control environment
  • Use networks and relationships to build engagement and achieve results
  • Escalate delays in audit execution to auditee management and GIAI Management
  • Clearly explain issues, risks and root causes to GIAI and business management in language understandable to non-experts
  • Display exemplary conduct aligned with the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding high standards of ethics, regulatory and business conduct across Standard Chartered Bank
  • Identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters collaboratively
  • Embed “Here for good” and the Group’s brand and values in GIAI
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned under Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures
