Morningstar is hiring for the role of Associate Language Specialist!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Aid in translating and collecting financial data for Non-English Markets traded in global financial markets using Morningstar collection systems and ensure data timelines, completeness, and accuracy to meet business goals.
• Leading Conversion and Translation Projects to improve the quality of translation irrespective of the language.
• Being flexible to provide translation support for any language based on business requirements.
• Perform data analysis to ensure required Equity data and methodologies are in place to drive the product.
• To Build custom native to English dictionary to facilitate data collection users to process the filings on timely basis.
• Collaboration across teams and working in a global environment and to closely work with quality assurance, products, and technical departments to resolve clients’ data issues timely and effectively.
• Actively discover and share ideas of improvement in work (including system, process and collection methodology) and propose enhancement suggestions to further improve system functionality, process efficiency and data quality.
• Should be SME Strong foundational knowledge of basic finance and accounting concepts, such as Assets, liabilities, equity, revenue, expenses, accounting principles like GAAP or IFRS, Financial ratios, and analysis.
• Basic knowledge of the Financial Statements and their terminologies in financial markets. Understanding the interconnections between financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement) and their related notes
• Knowledge of the supplementary disclosures in financial notes, which provide context to the numbers in the statements (e.g., accounting policies, contingent liabilities, or risk assessments).
• Serve as an equity data expert for companies listed on global exchanges and demonstrate excellent analysis and judgment skills for obtaining solutions on framing methodologies and resolving collection issues.

Requirements:

• Bachelor/master’s degree in finance/business or Arts with an exceptional academic record.
• Fluency in Korean Language (Intermediate to Advanced Level). Basic knowledge in additional languages would be Preferred.
• 2 to 4 years of professional work experience in the relevant field.
• Knowledge in building custom translation dictionary tools and testing.
• Proven experience in optimizing processes and handling Translation related Projects.  
• Eager and ready to work in a high-performance culture.
• Ability to take calls early or late nights once or twice a week. 
• Excellent communication is written as well as verbal & reporting skill
• Knowledge of SQL and Excel will be an added advantage
• Flexibility to work in shifts.
