GE Appliances is hiring for the role of Associate IP Professional!

Responsibilities of the Candidates:

• Work in coordination with a team of attorneys and technologists.
• Support creating and managing strategic and tactical IP assets for the Appliances business by means of novelty searches as guided.
• Support assessing competitive position, perform clearance (FTO) analysis for new product introductions  OR validity/ invalidity and provide relevant conclusions and recommendations to technologists, technology management and legal personnel located across the globe as guided.
• Support development of patent and technology landscapes, identify “white spaces”, technology roadmaps, competitor watch and non-patent literature search to conduct technology landscape.
• Participate in companywide initiatives – EHS, compliance, well-within, World IP Day, etc.
• Ability to work independently and with team and in cross-functional environments as needed with limited guidance and under tight timelines
• Demonstration of flexibility to accommodate changing business priorities
• Participate in documenting & sharing lessons learned in relevant technical forums.
• Good analytical, presentation, verbal, and written communication skills
• IoT/Connected/AI: Technology, parts, subsystems, algorithms, software
• Mechanical: subsystems, mechanism, structure
• Hydraulics, suspensions, dampers, balancing system, pumps
• Electrical/electronic: Controls, UI, different motors, compressors, components and circuits, diagnostics, sensors

Requirements:

• 2-5 years of Hands-on experience conducting 20+ FTO searches, 100+ novelty searches, and design searches in the US, CA, and EP. Good to have experience in KR, JP, CN and other European countries.
• B. Tech or M. Tech / M.E degree in Mechanical, EE, CS and E&TC Engineering.
• Exposure to Derwent is preferred along with other paid databases.
• Develop and integrate new IP concepts. Learn new tools, methodologies documents and upgrade analysis approach. Exposure to processes like six-sigma and NPI
• Experience in consumer products, automotive, or other comparable industries.
• Patent drafting, certified on patent analysis by leading global intellectual property training institutes such as WON/GO and PRG, Certified Indian Patent agent.
• Knowledge of Excel, macros, R, python.AI based IP Analytics
