Alvarez and Marsal is hiring for the role of Associate, Federal Tax - US Region!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Assist with the tax compliance process for partners' estimates, extensions and annual compliance filings for pass through entities
• Assist in research and analysis of a wide variety of tax issues
• Participate in potential tax-planning and consulting projects for corporate clients
• Attend client calls to understand critical areas of importance and apply tax technical knowledge to specific client situations
• Assist with creating deliverables that are concise, complete and address the elements deemed critical by the client
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team and clearly communicate work plan, project objectives, and timelines
• Build internal relationships with other members of the Federal Tax team

Requirements:

• Chartered Accountant or MBA in Business Administration
• 1-3 year of experience in tax compliance and consulting experience in public accounting or professional services (Big 4 experience preferred)
• Excellent verbal and written skills, with the ability to establish credibility and influence clients
• Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
• Experience with all Microsoft Office products (with an emphasis on Excel) and research software
• Experience with GoSystem Tax RS and OneSource preferred
• Ability to simultaneously work on several projects and effectively manage deadlines
• High motivation to learn and grow
