Caterpillar is hiring for the role of Associate Engineer!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Perform design, development, and maintenance of new or existing products and components
• Take responsibility for the design concept and layout using manual or computer graphics systems
• Conduct design calculations and participate in design decisions
• Provide technical leadership to various departments, including Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, Marketing, Sales, and Service, in collaboration with the supporting technical team
• Coordinate and provide design expertise with considerable latitude
• Refine and improve product designs by conducting investigations and developing solutions
• Consult with engineers to determine work objectives and methods to achieve them
• Ensure product integrity in the global marketplace by ensuring superior performance, durability, reliability, quality, and serviceability
• Maintain communication with Assemblers and Test Engineers during product buildup and testing.
• Adhere to established standards, policies, and practices related to quality, cost reduction, safety, ergonomics, etc
• Provide technical leadership for Designers, Layout Drafters, Drafting Technicians, and purchased drafting support

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science from an accredited institution, plus 1 to 2 years of experience, or a master's or doctorate degree
• Excellent analytical skills
• Strong problem-solving skills and good mechanical and/or electrical/electronic aptitude
• Good communication skills
• Ability to work independently and apply theoretical concepts through on-the-job experience or advanced degree
• Familiarity with complex design processes and ability to work with engineers to set objectives and achieve results
