Associate Application Engineer Job in Hyderabad at Semtech

Semtech is hiring for the role of Associate Application Engineer! 

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Characterize new & existing transient voltage suppression (TVS) products using a wide range of tools including but not limited to ESD test simulations, Lightning/Surge generators, Transmission Line Pulse (TLP) test simulations, and transmission loss analysis
• ESD evaluation of customer boards and equipment pursuant to IEC 61000-4-2 (an International Electro-technical Commission test standard).  Ability to analyze system level ESD failures using SEED (System Efficient ESD Design) methodology and ESD/EMC analysis tools including ESD generators and Transmission Line Pulse (TLP) / Very Fast TLP (VFTLP) analysis. 
• Build hardware prototypes to verify new product feasibility
• Design and build new product evaluation and demo boards 
• Use PSPICE software for protection device modeling and circuit simulations.
• Respond to technical questions put forth by customers and sales force.
• Assist customers with component selection. 

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics and Communication, Electrical Engineering or related degree
• Entry Level Application Engineering (Freshers).
• ESD/EOS basics
• Proven lab skills and proficiency in operating TVS / ESD related test equipment including but not limited to ESD testing per IEC 61000-4-2, TLP tester, Surge test equipment, Network Analyzer, Digital scope.
• Capability to correctly interpret device data including TLP plots, ESD / surge plots, insertion loss, capacitance measurements.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting system level ESD / surge related failure mechanisms.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and project management skills
• Fluency in spoken and written English
• Excellent analytical and trouble shooting skills with the ability to proactively solve issues
• Effective verbal and written communication to interface at all levels within the organization
• Strong sense of urgency to meet product requirements on schedule
• Experience in working with international and cross-functional teams
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office™ products - Excel, Word, Visio, Power Point, Project.
