UnitedLex is hiring for the role of Associate!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Assisting in daily quality assurance review for patent filings, as well as general audits to review portfolios.
• Supporting the responsible patent attorneys on opposition/rejections matters, including, including but not limited to, preparing the opposition/rejections file, updating further submissions, and uploading documents as necessary on an IP Management Software tool (FoundationIP).
• Reviewing documentation as instructed by the responsible patent attorneys.
• Supporting annuities and recorded activities.
• Supporting the management of Power of Attorney (PoAs).
• Using internal and external databases to obtain patent documentation.

Requirements:

• Strong academic background.
• One+ years of progressive work experience as a patent paralegal at a law firm or (preferred) in-house.
• At least one year of experience using FoundationIP (preferred).
• Knowledge and experience working with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (preferred).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with other professionals in the legal department and business teams.
• Detail-oriented with excellent judgment and analytical skills
• Able to juggle multiple tasks - dynamic, and action-orientated, which meets deadlines and makes it happen.
