AXA XL is hiring for the role of Assistant Specialist!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Install, patch, and configure on-premises BI software applications, including MS Power BI gateway servers.
• Support the implementation & administration of MS Power BI (data gateway and workspace creation/updates).
• Monitor uptime & response time of BI applications and servers.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system performance issues.
• Implement user access controls.
• Manage system vulnerability risk to acceptable levels on time.
• Assist the manager with existing and new security requirements.
• Effectively manage incident & change management.
• Maintain & implement new security protocols, access, scalability, and usability.
• Create & maintain documentation, including diagrams and operational & support procedures.
• Publish client-facing support documents to improve user experience.
• Interact with end users, GT, team members, and stakeholders to define & document required changes.
• Assist with CI/CD implementation or Power BI deployment pipeline setup and configuration.
• Automate processes using Power BI REST API, Python, and PowerShell for metadata retrieval, data refreshes, usage metrics, and auditing.
• Capture Capacity Assessment information.
• Assist with Power BI workspace cleanup and organization to ensure best practice compliance.
• Support peer reviews to maintain best practices, standards, and guidelines globally within IDA.
• Review, provide technical input, and incorporate 3rd party tools for Power BI enhancement.
• Work closely with the manager and Microsoft on new features, tools, issues, and support cases.

Requirements:

• Relevant experience as a BI developer.
• Experience working with Power BI/MS SQL Server.
• Experience with MS Azure Services (ADF, Databricks, Synapse, Cloud SQL, and Data Migration).
• Python, PowerShell, C#, and Power BI Platform experience (nice to have).
• Power BI Certification (asset)
• Ability to work independently and complete deliverables on time.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Team player, self-motivated, and proactive in identifying improvement opportunities.
• Analytical and problem-solving mindset.
