American Express is hiring for the role of Assistant Relationship Manager!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

  • Drive business, achieve monthly sales targets, and acquire new customers through consultative selling of our card products via defined channels of acquisition (Retail, Corporate, Venue-sales).
  • Prospect for new customers through existing leads and cold calling, maximizing lead generation.
  • Execute all sales activities in a timely manner, including leads, campaigns, referrals, and self-generated leads.
  • Track and report sales performance, including pipeline, acquisition results, and market conditions.
  • Set appointments, listen to customer needs, and sell the most appropriate product.
  • Research and understand prospects before making calls.
  • Ensure all applications are fully and accurately completed and submitted properly.
  • Act as the interface between Amex and the customer to resolve any application processing issues.
  • Drive the onboarding of new customers and initiate spend enablement activities.
  • Keep up-to-date on products and competition.
  • Attend and participate in regular staff meetings.
  • Engage in regular portfolio planning to determine areas of focus and project accurate full-year forecasts.
  • Attend relevant industry and partner conferences, tradeshows, and networking events.
  • Ensure all performance standards are met, including business targets, controls, and compliance.
  • Engage with premium customers to build relationships and deliver a positive customer experience while acquiring new customers.
  • Expand internal and external relationships and drive sales results.
  • Ensure appropriate sales processes are followed, and the highest levels of controls and compliance are adhered to.

Requirements:

  • Educational Background Required:
    • MBA or Graduate degree
  • Experience Required:
    • Minimum of 6 months of front-line/field sales experience in the financial services domain. Candidates with more than 12 months of experience in B2C, IT sales, eCommerce, travel, lifestyle, healthcare, or real estate can also apply.
  • Skills Required:
    • Consultative selling experience
    • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales goals
    • Demonstrated strategic ability to link Amex and customer goals
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Relationship-building experience in developing and executing successful sales strategies
    • Excellent problem-solving skills
    • Excellent planning and territory management skills
    • High levels of initiative, self-motivation, and time management
    • Ability to influence and negotiate with customers both internally and externally and at all levels
    • Ability to engage and gain commitment effectively across all communication platforms (telephone, email, face-to-face)
    • Ability to establish and maintain credibility with customers and partners
    • Strong skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
