The Communications team at Meesho plays a crucial role in shaping and amplifying the narrative of Meesho's mission to democratize internet commerce for every Indian. Comprising skilled professionals, the team is dedicated to bringing the company's inspiring stories to life, showcasing its commitment to empowering small businesses and fostering entrepreneurship across the country.
 
About the Role:
 
As a key member of the Communications team, the successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and creating compelling stories that resonate with Meesho's mission. Collaborating with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams, the role involves driving consistent PR visibility across key verticals, such as user experience, seller empowerment, and logistics efficiency. The candidate will leverage their analytical skills to interpret internal data for generating new story ideas and contribute to the development and execution of impactful PR campaigns.
 
Objectives:
 
Cement Meesho’s position as the most preferred shopping destination for the next billion Indians. To support the flourishing entrepreneurial spirit of our country, Meesho is building a robust platform to help small businesses grow and succeed online. Meesho is the only pure play and asset-light marketplace: no inventory and in-house logistics. The company has tied up with multiple third-party partners like Shadowfax, Delhivery, Ecom Express, and Xpressbees to deliver products to every nook and corner of the country.
 

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

  • Work with internal stakeholders across user, seller, and logistics to identify and create compelling stories
  • Work with cross-functional teams to drive consistent PR visibility for the brand across key verticals like user, seller, and logistics 
  • Analyze and interpret internal data to create new story ideas
  • Conceptualize and implement successful PR campaigns with measurable results
  • Actively track and map media/journalists relevant to stories about Meesho. Build strong and trusting relationships with regional and national media
  • Efficiently manage day-to-day PR agency deliverables
  • Develop content for opinion pieces, media responses, press releases, etc

Requirements:

  • Graduation/Post Graduation degree in communication 
  • 3-5 years of experience in PR 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong relationships with journalists and publications covering business, startups, and e-commerce
