SKF is hiring for the role of Assistant Manager - Application Engineer!

Responsibilities of the Candidates:

• Independently lead and grow business engagement with OEM/Tier-1 Engineering and sourcing teams acting as customer single point of contact for SKF bearings and solutions.
• proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities by understanding customer concerns and evolving market needs.
• Identify and analyze the customer's technical requirements and communicate the parameters clearly and accurately to the SKF engineering value chain.
• Create application engineering proposals and customized solutions according to customer requirements and present to customers clearly and effectively.
• Work in coordination with SKF product design and product engineering teams to facilitate DFMEA and discuss the same with customers on a specific project or product line.
• Prepare and execute design verification and process validation test plans using global testing resources.
• Promote and emphasize first-time right quality by offering critical assessment of product or processes and deploy continuous improvement activities such as lessons learned, warranty analysis, etc.
• Root Cause Analysis of the customers' application and bearing performance issues and contribute to the issue resolution and converting problem into the opportunity for new product development & innovation.
• Facilitate and drive engineering activities as per SKF ETO process from the start of business opportunity until end of production, including specification phase, prototype phase, industrialization phase, series production phase and warranty phase.
• Participate and contribute to internal and external trainings & SKF technology day, assist with the development of training material, preparing and updating product and application mapping

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in automobile/mechanical engineering
• added advantage for diploma/polytechnic engineering in any stream with bachelor’s degree.
• 3-6 years’ relevant work experience in automotive or off-highway or rotating machinery applications.
• Experience with passenger vehicle & commercial vehicle applications is preferred.
• Application knowledge on type of material, its selection, manufacturing process, heat & surface treatments
• Application of knowledge in mechanical and automotive rotating system design principals, failure theory, key functions and technical requirements, design failure modes, testing and validation
• Working knowledge on DFM, DFA, DFMEA, and tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Working experience on engineering project management, quality audits and its procedure, PPAP
