Marriott is hiring for the role of Assistant Engineering Manager!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Assisting with the Management of Engineering Operations and Budgets:
  • Assist with managing the physical plant, including equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, water treatment, and electrical systems.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with facility regulations and safety standards.
  • Manage and control heat, light, and power, recommending current best methods for energy conservation and economical facility operations.
  • Develop specifications and requirements for service contracts and administer such contracts to support building needs.
  • Distribute preventive maintenance and repair work orders, monitoring timeliness and quality of completion.
  • Oversee the maintenance of grounds, guestrooms, public spaces, restaurants, property vehicles, and recreational facilities.
  • Develop a long-term plan for preventive maintenance and asset protection, overseeing the execution of the plan.
  • Develop project plans for renovation or new construction needs.
  • Coordinate with contractors for bids and construction to ensure timely completion of projects within budgetary guidelines.
  • Build positive relationships with external customers, such as city building/zoning departments, fire prevention bureaus, and vendors.
  • Ensure the fire crew has a complete understanding of all procedures, equipment, and alarms.
  • Perform monthly property inspections to ensure buildings and grounds are maintained in excellent condition.
  • Inspect and evaluate the physical condition of facilities to determine the type of work required.
  • Select and order or purchase new equipment, supplies, and furnishings.
  • Manage parts and equipment inventory.
• Maintaining Property Standards:
  • Ensure building and equipment licenses and certifications are current.
  • Maintain property life safety systems (firefighting equipment, sprinkler systems, and alarm systems).
• Ensuring Exceptional Customer Service:
  • Display leadership in guest hospitality, exemplifying excellent customer service and creating a positive atmosphere for guest relations.
  • Establish guidelines so employees understand expectations and parameters.
  • Review comment cards, guest satisfaction results, and other data to identify areas of improvement.
  • Share plans with property leadership and ensure corrective action is taken to continuously improve guest satisfaction.
  • Strive to improve service performance.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED; 2 years experience in engineering and maintenance or related areas; technical training in HVAC-R/electrical/plumbing. 
• 2-year degree from an accredited university in Building & Construction, Engineering, Mechanics, or related major; no experience required.
