Wabtec is hiring for the role of Assembly Technician!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

  • Perform OH’s or remanufacture locomotive components on the assembly line according to drawings, instructions, or schematics.
  • Follow established safety and efficiency procedures to ensure that operations run smoothly. Report Near misses.
  • Inspect assembled products for any faults or defects.
  • Perform In-process checks. Record findings against set parameters.
  • Maintain a record of mechanical repairs and adjustments.
  • Report incidents, faulty operations, or product imperfections on the assembly line to management.
  • Responsible for maintaining the tool management system.
  • Ensure zero in-process rejections during fitment.
  • Responsible for Kaizen generation.
  • Resolve assembly problems; notify supervisor to obtain additional resources.
  • Keep equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following the manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and calling for repairs.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Maintain inventory by checking stock to determine supply levels, placing, and tracking material orders, and verifying receipt of supplies.
  • Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Document actions by completing production and quality check sheets.
  • Support other departments for successful job completion.

Requirements:

  • High Levels of Personal Integrity and Safety Mindset.
  • Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical).
  • Minimum of 2 years of industrial experience in a manufacturing assembly line.
  • Demonstrated experience in production processes and quality.
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal. Ability to work in team culture and motivate the team for higher performance.
  • Hands-on experience in Tool management.
  • Good knowledge of manufacturing safety protocols and regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Flexible to work in Shifts.
  • Flexible to travel for On-Job training.
