Warner Bros. Discovery is hiring for the role of Analyst - FP&A!

Responsibilities of the Candidate: 

• Ensuring participation in the month-end close – classes, accrual preparation etc.
• Performing Data governance in the EPM systems of WBD (BPC SAP & Hyperion) through department hierarchy maintenance/cleaning.
• Adding new POs for vendor spending to the database (Smartsheet).
• Providing Regular updates of the POS database.
• Doing continuous work on data quality (dates, amounts, coding).
• Ensuring verification of Actuals hitting GL for the periodical close, pasting into Smartsheet
• Doing Variance analysis for periodical close.
• Engaging with budget managers to check on POs to be closed to ensure a clean Balance Sheet.
• Doing Analysis of Opex spending for each PO and prepopulating values for the forecasted months.
• Taking part in communication and reviews with budget managers and supporting the forecast process (coding, system-related queries, data-driven analysis).
• Entering forecast updates into Smartsheet.
• Answering ad-hoc queries, performing checks on coding, and proposing correct PO setup.
• Supporting the finance team and COE in variance explanation (based on the PO database and additional information from budget managers).
• Extracting SAP reports with transactions list and data from Smartsheet.
• Finding the right vendor line in Smartsheet for a group of SAP transactions (attached to that vendor), or creating a new line in Smartsheet.
• Liaising with the Accounting team for coding changes necessary to keep the PO number in the transaction description and facilitate the vendor mapping.
• Working with the teams on data quality in the PO coding.
• Checking if the totals per cost centre, accounts group, and geography are consistent between SAP and Smartsheet.

Requirements: 

• 2-3+ years of working experience preferably with experience in FP&A or Data Analytics department
• Excellent analytical skills – high attention to detail and financial reconciliation,
• Good MS Excel skills
• Understanding of FP&A cycles & processes: month-end close, forecasting and budgeting
• Visualization tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, Qlick View) knowledge & experience is a plus
• Strong oral and written English communication skills
• Assured self-starter on relevant projects and work is a plus
• Pro-active and hands-on
• Strong IT affinity to drive required digital agenda in FP&A (EPM ie. Hyperion, SAP BPC/SAC, BI tools ie. Power BI)
