Kroll is hiring for the role of Analyst, Financial Instruments & Technology (Complex Securities Valuation)!
Responsibilities of the Candidate:
- Assist on a range of valuation advisory services to the alternative asset community and gain exposure to the esoteric nature of such positions.
- Develop deep technical strength in the valuation of alternative assets through direct exposure to high-profile clients and industry professionals.
- Review investment memoranda, governing documents of structured investments, board of directors’ presentations, and client models.
- Assist the team in interviewing clients by preparing information request lists, participating in face-to-face meetings, and gathering pertinent data and information.
- Help design financial models for discounted cash flow, market multiple, market transaction, and option pricing analyses.
- Perform valuation analysis on a wide range of illiquid investments across industries and geographies using accepted approaches and theories.
- Compile statistical summaries of companies’ financial information, develop and compute financial ratios, and present the analyses in an organized manner using standard formats and presentations.
- Work with management to build, develop, and maintain client relationships.
- Report and present analyses and conclusions, including written reports and assisting in the presentation of work products and conclusions internally and to clients.
- Attend relevant industry events to broaden knowledge and experience within the alternative asset community.
Requirements:
- CA, Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics, or equivalent (e.g., CFA); or MBA from an accredited college/university.
- Minimum 0-1 year of experience constructing and reviewing valuation models and other financial models, including enterprise valuation using DCF and market approaches, and other structured investment models.
- Experience with credit analysis or structured securities is a plus (e.g., CLOs, CMBS, RMBS, ABS) and familiarity with Intex or other tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Fundamental understanding of financial valuation theory, methodologies, and applications.
- Excellent understanding of financial statement analysis with the ability to work through key assumptions, implicit caveats, and limitations.
- Excellent attention to detail, strong work ethic, and ability to manage multiple ongoing assignments efficiently and accurately.
- Familiarity with relevant accounting standards and policies produced and amended by the AICPA and other oversight bodies.
- Knowledge of software packages, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Direct experience working with VBA, Python, and Power BI is highly desirable.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills that represent diverse communities effectively.
- Experience working with diverse teams.
