Analyst – Decision Sciences Job in Bangalore at HSBC

HSBC is hiring for the role of Analyst – Decision Sciences!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Ensure the provision of complete, true, and accurate analysis and report to functional management and senior executives under minimum supervision of his / her line manager, to facilitate effective decision-making.
• Make quick decisions in situations where complete information/data might not exist, and he/she would need to apply business knowledge & intuition to make best-case recommendations.
• Guide Analysts from a functional perspective and help them gain business understanding.
• Be under partial supervision and will undergo on-the-job training, however, it is vital that the person in this role is able to learn new tasks very quickly.  The role holder will be expected to execute on tasks/projects, once provided initial directional guidance.
• Solve complex technical/business problems on his/her own without involving his/her line manager.
• Be responsible for thorough quality checks (QC) of their own deliverables and follow the departmental quality check (QC) procedures as laid down by their line managers.
• Create departmental quality check (QC) guidelines & ensure their adherence to his/her functional reports.
• Be the primary SPOC for their assigned projects, for the business partner. In this role, they are supposed to set the correct expectations with respect to deliverables, Turn Around Time (TAT), follow-ups, etc. 
• Develop business domain knowledge and good working knowledge of tools [SAS, SQL, VBA, Unix, Qlik, R, Python, and any other Business Intelligence (BI) tools & Data technologies.]
• Interface with business/functions to translate business requirements into executable instructions/technical.

Requirements:

• Over 2+ relevant experience in cloud computing with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) experience
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a reputed university with a specialization in an engineering discipline
• Knowledge and understanding of financial services/Retail banking operations are desired
• Strong background and hands-on experience on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) implementing data pipelines
• Strong experience in Airflow, Big Query, Data Build Tool (DBT), Big Table, Dataflow, Python, Spark, Pipeline, Jenkins
• Experience with Agile/iterative process in delivering use cases. Exposure to JIRA/Confluence for project management activity
• Enthusiasm for proactively seeking, exploring, and developing use cases for new data and/or tools/wider industry trends
• Proven ability to work in a matrix multi-national operating structure
