Analyst - Data Governance Job in Gurgaon at American Express

American Express is hiring for the role of Analyst - Data Governance!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Partner with the Data Steward Manager and Director to contribute to the day-to-day activities related to the customization of the Enterprise Data Governance, Management, and Sharing program to the needs of the Business.
• Manage and advance data governance principles, policies, and programs for stewardship, advocacy, and custodianship of data.
• Ensure a high degree of collaboration with other FDO teams, IFCT data analytics, technology, and enterprise data teams, and the ability to perform data queries, work with large data sets, and analyze the results.
• Work with the ICS Business group to define and document Business Metadata for the critical data. Classify the level of sensitivity for restricted metadata and communicate any access requirements to Enterprise Data Governance, when applicable.
• Serve as the point of contact between ICS Consumer Groups, Privacy COE, Regulatory Reporting & FCT, and Enterprise Data Governance for communications on Operational Risk Events (OREs) events involving critical data. Define and lead the implementation of the mitigating controls for OREs.
• Review and monitor the enterprise scorecard for the aggregated data quality results of the Data Quality Controls for critical data.
• Define frameworks, operating models, and organizational change considerations for data governance and management in support of new and existing data capabilities.
• Partner with the EDP team leading the Lumi migration effort and ICS BUs to ensure a smooth migration to Lumi from POD platforms.

Requirements:

• Proven track record of understanding business challenges and strategies and connecting those to data and capabilities and understanding of Data Statistics
• Strong working knowledge of current and upcoming data governance, data management, and data product techniques and trends, with a point of view on evolving concepts and best practices
• Program management experience, with partners across a diverse, global set of business units
• Demonstrable experience in driving meaningful improvements in business value through data management and strategy
• Ability to work with white space to design and execute solutions to solve complex challenges
• Demonstrated learning agility, and ability to make decisions quickly and with the highest level of integrity
• Strong project management skills
• Must have a positive, collaborative leadership style with colleagues and a customer-first mindset
• Past Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in Data Governance
